British Columbia’s E-Substances Regulation under its Public Health Act generally prohibits retailers from selling vaping substances (ie eliquid) unless it contains nicotine or cannabis.
That means that nicotine-free e-liquid can’t be sold to consumers in BC. And a representative from the BC government confirms that the regulations apply to companies outside BC that sell e-substances to consumers in BC.
So if you’re an individual living in BC and thinking of switching from smoking to vaping, tough luck if you want to titrate down all the way to nicotine-free vaping.
Ostensibly this was meant to reduce youth usage of vapes, but come on, man. There are much better ways to attempt to address that.
This isn’t harm-reduction, it’s harm-INCREASING!
